Sandra was born and grew up in the Yukon Territory. She studied art for three years under Canadian artist Ted Harrison before taking a four year Bachelor of Arts degree at Emily Carr College of Art and Design. Sandra won a number of scholarships during her time at E.C.C.A.D. and graduated with a degree of distinction for an outstanding body of work in the department of sculpture. Two of her strongest influences while at art school were ceramic artist and teacher Sally Michener and Sculptor/teacher George Rammel who oversaw the creation of Bill Reid’s Spirit Canoe.

Sandra has been involved in the creation of Wild Oats Studio in Vancouver and Burning Issues Gallery in New Zealand and has been associated with the New Zealand Potter’s Society, Northland Arts Trust, and Reyburn House Gallery in New Zealand and the Yukon Art Society in the Yukon. Sandra was a guest artist with JICA in Seoul Korea in 1997.

Her work is in collections in Canada, New Zealand, the U.K. and Korea. She is currently represented by the Arts Underground and Yukon Artist’s at Work Galleries in Whitehorse, Yukon, JustImajan Gallery in Cochrane, Alta and Arts On Atlantic in Calgary.
