Ann Mackenzie was brought up on a sheep farm in the Highlands of Scotland. Ironically it wasn’t until she arrived in Whitehorse that she learned to weave, spin and later make felt. Ann finds feltmaking is an excellent medium for blending colour and combining muslin cotton and silks as texture and she gets her inspiration from the colours of the Yukon wilderness. She enjoys teaching, and has taught in the schools, seniors, and seniors homes. Ann is a member of the Northern Fibres Guild and her work is for sale at Yukon Artists @Work.
