Seen from Afar: A COVID-19 En Plein Air Festival
Beginning July 27th and ending August 22nd, En Plein Air will entail a weekly roster of up to three professional Yukon artists creating art over the course of the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Each participant will be working from an isolated location of their choice; whether that be the wilderness, their own backyard, or even the fresh air of their studio is up to the artist’s discretion.
The artist’s progress will be documented through selfies, photos of their work, and short videos that will be shown on our (Yukon Artists @ Work) Facebook page. At the end of each week we will hold an online group exhibition of the artwork. Look out for the grand finale at the end of the four weeks!
We will also be staging two small outdoor exhibits, one at the end of the second week, August 8th, and another on August 22nd. Each exhibit will take place between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, in our lovely yard out front of our gallery. The last exhibit will feature all the lovely artwork made during the festival. The art will also be for sale during this time.
