“My goal is to connect and honor the magic and mystery of the north and its people throughout my art.”
Marie-Hélène’s work has been presented in various art shows in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and in Quebec. She is also involved with the International Art Project «Caravane des dix mots», which took her to Senegal, Madagascar, and Armenia to give art workshops.
Marie-Hélène completed a Ph.D. in Études et pratiques des arts at Université du Québec à Montréal. Her research revealed the Yukon French identity construction in a migration context through the use of an art project.
Marie-Hélène’s work varies from installation, printing, and community art work. However, she has a preference for painting. It gives her the opportunity to stop and explore her northern identity using shapes and colors. She always carries her sketch book, taking notes and drawing her northern surrounding that she uses later in her colorful paintings.
