Thanks to Government of Canada funding from the New Horizons for Seniors program, we were able to offer a new and exciting community art project in the spring and summer of 2021. Some of our artists, many of whom are seniors, teamed up with members of the public aged 55+ to creatively paint numerous plywood cutouts of northern features and creatures. The completed pieces were attached to the outside of our gallery.
About 40 seniors/elders in Whitehorse, Tagish and Haines Junction took part. We documented the process through photos, videos and short vignettes.
