In the summer of 2021, our member artists worked with about 40 seniors and elders from Whitehorse, Haines Junction, and Tagish to create dozens of brightly painted plywood cutouts of northern creatures and features. The pieces were mounted on the outside of our gallery for a few years, but now it’s time to find new homes for several of them.

If you have passed by our gallery and admired any of these pieces, this is your chance to become the lucky owner of one or more of them.

We invite you to bid on any of the pieces shown here; call us at (867) 393-4848 with your bid price and which piece(s) you are bidding on. If you prefer, come to our gallery at 4th and Wood St. in Whitehorse and place your bid in person.

Today, July 5th all the available pieces are on display in our yard, giving you one last chance to bid on them. The auction closes at 6 o’clock this evening and we will announce the successful bidders within the following hour. The winners of the pieces will be asked to pay tonight and can take home their art right away. All the money raised will go towards keeping our gallery running.

This event is part of First Fridays, a self-directed art crawl organized by Yukon Artists at Work, Arts Underground, and the Northern Cultural Expressions Society.

Notes: Pieces are sold as is. The winning bidder is free to use them as is or repaint them as they wish. If you want to see the general condition of the pieces, you can see the work that is still on the exterior walls of our buiding. They were all made in the same way and at the same time. This will help you to see the good condition of the paint, and the thickness of the wood. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact Leslie Leong at: leslie@leslieleong.com
