Exhibit Explores Play and Simple Childhood Pleasures
Our November show celebrates the joy of childhood memories and games. All in the Dance is a solo exhibition by Tagish sculptor Sandra Storey. Storey uses clay to capture simple human feelings, memories and moments in what she calls ‘three-dimensional freeze frames’. Her work is allegorical, with animals featured as the characters in her pieces.

“I often enter my studio full of grief and anger at all the things that I feel helpless to change,”
Storey says. “The clay takes these emotions and turns them towards hope and kindness.”
“In this body of work, I take comfort in memories of the playground communities and the simple pleasures we used to engage in as children. We broke our wrists, skinned our knees and fell in love,” Storey adds. “It’s the joy that these things bring that I would like others to experience in this exhibition.”
The opening reception takes place on Friday, Nov. 7th from 5-7 pm as part of the regular First Friday art crawl.
